A personality of whose name speaks volumes for his contribution in the field of music as an outstanding performer, imaginative, musician, arranger and composer. Born with his outstanding sense of music, Pradipto started his musical journey way back in Kolkata. Blessed to be born in a Bengali household he started his musical journey under the able guidance of Shri Subhash Pal a renowned artist of ALL INDIA RADIO Kolkata and further continued with his advanced training under the maestro himself, Shri Saroj Barua. An early stepping stone started with his becoming a member of Kolkata Cine Musicians Association and had initiated working with the leading music directors in Bengali Film Industry at a very early age. He is eminently known for his expertise in playing the instrument with equal finesse for both Indian and western classical music.
And with call of the hour Pradipto eventually migrated to Mumbai (Mayanagari) in the year 1988 and subsequently here too became the life member of Cine Musicians Association Mumbai within no time. It did not take long for a Supremo of Saxophone Shri Manohari Singh to identify a musical soul like PRADIPTO who introduced him to the living legend then “R D BURMAN“ and eventually became an integral part of R D BURMAN's team. PRADIPTO’S MUSICAL Journey took off with his first recording with R D Burman on 29th January1989 for the film “Jeene Do” and from there after there was no looking back as he was creating milestones with his musical performance and worked with stalwarts like Laxmikant Pyarelal , Ravindra Jain, Anand Milind, Jatin Lalit, Nadeem Shravan, Ismile Darbar, Viju Shah, Uttam Singh and many more.
His contribution to the Mumbai cine world has created history with songs like ‘Mehendi Lagake Rakhna’, ‘Tumse Milke Aaisa Laga’, ’Nimbuda Nimbuda’, Tujhe Dekha Toh Ye Jana Sanam’, and the list continues. The numbers added to his credentials speaks the story of his success by itself. His latest piece of solo
work which has broken all records is “Mere Rashke Qamar’ from the movie Baadshaho. To pen down his varied and vast journey in a piece of paper will not be possible because the list of Hits and History is too long.
PRADIPTO’S love for his string instruments drives him even further and this passion driven man also very efficiently plays instruments like Spanish Guitar, Tenor Banjo, Mandola, Rabab, Oud, Saz, Dotara, Ruan (Chinese instrument), Charango (Bolivian Instrument), Ukulele, Marlin (Canadian Instrument) and many more with equal ease and expertise.
“Strings of joy “ was one such concerts where he had performed with fourteen instruments on stage, which won allocates of appreciation both in India and abroad.
His journey of music with passion is beamed with beautiful memories of his innumerable concerts, solo performances of which few have left a mark of love and gratitude in his heart wherein once he felt blessed to have shared stage with legends like O.P. Nayyar in a concert in Pune (Maharashtra).
The immense love that he receives from his fellow musicians and fans leaves him gratified and personified at the same time. With busy schedule of concerts and composing, he also takes out time to pass on his vast knowledge and expertise to train and guide the next generation with this valuable treasure.
